Contains an English translation of Pope Pius IX's Apostolic Letter In Suprema Petri Apostoli Sede "On The Supreme Throne of Peter the Apostle," dated 6 January 1848. Pope Pius IX's Letter was written to Eastern Christians, both Eastern Catholic and Eastern Orthodox. Later that year, the Orthodox Patriarchs issued a reply which is also included in the file.
